Check out the final projects below. So creative and so fun!

Project 1: Heart Pillow by Persia Lou. You will need 24 hexagons. This would make such a fun wedding gift!

Project 2: Round Ball Pillow by Lizzie Bella Crochet. You will need 20 hexagons and 12 pentagons (pentagon pattern will be included in her hexagon post). Hello cozy chic!

Project #3: Snowflake Cowl by Gleeful Things. You will need 16 hexagons (more or less depending on the length you prefer). I almost wish we were getting more snow this week so I could work one of these up and appear outside looking gorgeously swathed in snowflakes. Whether or not you live in a state that’s officially greeted spring, you are going to want to whip one of these up for next winter!
Project #4: Drawstring Project Bag by Fiber Flux. You will need 10 hexagons. The perfect way to carry projects with you on the go!

Project #5: Coin Purse by Flamingo Toes. You will need 3 hexagons. Too darling! The editor has a feeling she’s going to custom order one of these from Abbey… 😉
Project #6: Vintage Flower Pouf by The Firefly Hook. You will need 50 hexagons and 7 pentagons (pentagon pattern will be included with her hexagon post). We will fill you in later on this special piece. Abbey’s mom helped with the sewing!

Project #7: Camera Strap by Whistle & Ivy. You will need 10 hexagons. So comfortably stylish – Monika may need this!
Project #8: Bamboo Handle Bag by Hopeful Honey. You will need 18 hexagons (14 standard size and 4 smaller hexagons crocheted with a smaller hook). What a beautiful, practical design!

The Firefly Hook’s Hexagon:

I wanted a different color scheme for each hexagon so they could be sewn together in a way that made each color pop.

To make my final project you will need 50 hexagons and 7 pentagons in all.

Vintage Flowered Hexagon & Pentagon
Materials: Knit Picks Brava Worsted (worsted weight) acrylic yarn (218 yds/100 g per skein): 4 skeins in Solstic Heather (CA), Fig (CB), Dove Heather (CC) and Denim (CD); Hook size (I-9) 5.5 mm.

Abbreviations

ch- . . . . . . . refers to chain or space previously made (i.e. ch-1 space)

Notes:
Stitch space (st-sp): work stitches under all the loops of the stitch (between the posts of the stitch) from previous row.
Switch colors on the last yarn over of the final slip stitch of each row.

Hexagon Pattern:
(Hexagon #1 color change)
Rnd 1: (CA) Ch 4 (counts as 1 dc), 11 dc in 4th ch from hook, sl st in 1st dc and switch to CB. (12 dc)
Rnd 2: (CB) Ch 3 (counts as 1 dc), 1 dc in same st-sp as ch-3 just made (1 2-dc shell made), [2 dc in next st-sp] 11 xs, sl st in 1st dc and switch to CC. (24 dc/12 2-dc shells)
Rnd 3: (CC) Ch 3 (counts as 1 dc), 2 dc in same st-sp as ch-3 just made (1 3-dc shell made), [sk next st, 3 dc in st-sp of 2-dc shell from rnd 2] 11 xs, sl st in 1st dc and the next 2 sts, switch to CD. (36 dc/12 3-dc shells)
Rnd 4: (CD) Hdc in next st-sp (after 1st 3-dc shell), ch 1, [sk 3 sts, 6 dc in st-sp after 3-dc shell, ch 1, sk 3 sts, hdc in st-sp after 3-dc shell, ch 1] 5 xs, sk 3 sts, 6 dc in st-sp after 3-dc shell, ch 1, sk 3 sts, sl st in 1st hdc and next st, finish off. (6 6-dc shells made, 9 sts on ea side of hexagon)

Pentagon Pattern:

Rnd 1: (CA) Ch 4 (counts as 1 dc), 9 dc in 4th ch from hook, sl st in 1st dc and switch to CB. (10 dc)
Rnd 2: (CB) Ch 3 (counts as 1 dc), 1 dc in same st-sp as ch-3 just made (1 2-dc shell made), [2 dc in next st-sp] 9 xs, sl st in 1st dc and switch to CC. (20 dc/10 2-dc shells)
Rnd 3: (CD) Hdc in next st-sp (between 1st 2-dc shell), ch 1, [sk 1 st, 6 dc between next 2-dc shell, ch 1, sk 1 st, hdc between next 2-dc shell, ch 1] 4 xs, sk 1 st, 6 dc between next 2-dc shell, ch 1, sk 1 st, sl st in 1st hdc and next st, finish off.
